Assistant Quality Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Quality Manager to join our team!

As the Assistant Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and compliance. You will oversee all aspects of quality control, quality assurance, and quality management to ensure the delivery of exceptional products to our customers.

Essential Functions

  • Manage daily activities of Quality Team and provide leadership, direction, and support for accomplishing their duties and responsibilities.
  • Delegate responsibilities and authority to hold Quality Team accountable for performing their assignments duties, and activities.
  • Lead problem solving teams in the investigation, problem resolution, and implementation of corrective actions and/or improvements for the nonconformance process.
  • Analyze the results of quality inspection data and adjust acceptance sampling and inspection plans to ensure ongoing quality control.
  • Develop and implement appropriate inspection, measurement, and test procedures and methods.
  • Evaluate manufacturing systems and processes and provide recommendations to make improvements.
  • Create and revise maintained documented information to ensure the ongoing compliance of the Quality Management System with customer expectations and ISO9001:2015 standard.
  • Plan and implement the use of electronic approvals for change control and material disposition within the ERP system.
  • Assist Engineering in the development and execution of validation and qualification protocols, including acceptance sampling plans and authorization of Engineering Change Orders.
  • Monitor monthly performance of Quality Objectives and ensure the ongoing communication of performance throughout the organization via reporting and group presentations.
  • Promote, teach, mentor, and coach colleagues in the principles, methods, and techniques of quality that result in quality product being delivered on time and in a cost-effective manner.
  • Effectively manage and lead the Quality Technicians, Lab Technicians, and Quality Engineers.
  • Successfully manage the Quality Test and Inspection Lab.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Science with 5+ years experience working in Quality function; or a four (4) year degree with 7+ years experience leading Quality function.
  • Experience with system and process design and implementation, statistics, data analysis, auditing, CAPA management, testing and inspection methods, sampling plans, document management, problem solving, product evaluation, validations and qualifications, customer and supplier management and relations.
  • Microsoft Excel experience required.
  • Experience with Minitab preferred.
  • Experience leading teams and/or managing employees.
  • Experience with plastics, thermoforming, injection molding, and extrusion preferred.
  • Experience leading initiatives and relationships with regulatory and accrediting agencies, including the FDA and ISO.
  • Knowledge of principles of Quality Management (ISO9001:2015 or above).
  • ASQ certification preferred.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift 20 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, and bend up to 50%.
  • Fine finger dexterity to calibrate and operate laboratory equipment and instruments.
  • Ability to complete repetitive hand and wrist movement.
  • Ability to visually decipher color variants.

Working Conditions

  • Combined office, laboratory, and warehouse environment.
  • Requires exposure to equipment noise and dust.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%.
