Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented CNC Programmer to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining CNC (Computer Numerical Control) programs that drive precision machining processes. Your expertise will ensure the efficient production of high-quality components using advanced CNC machinery, including 5-axis CNC machines and CNC lathes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative manufacturing projects by leveraging your technical knowledge and programming skills to enhance productivity and quality standards.
Duties:
- Develop and write CNC programs utilizing CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software, ensuring alignment with engineering specifications and blueprints.
- Interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) to accurately set up machining operations.
- Program CNC milling machines, lathes, and 5-axis CNC machines using Fanuc controls and other relevant systems.
- Set up machining tools, fixtures, and tooling to optimize precision and efficiency for each job.
- Conduct precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other measurement instruments to verify part quality.
- Troubleshoot machining issues by analyzing geometry, tooling wear, and machine performance; implement corrective actions promptly.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on CAD (Computer-Aided Design) models created in SolidWorks to translate designs into accurate CNC programs.
- Maintain detailed documentation of programs, setups, tooling configurations, and quality control records in compliance with lean manufacturing principles.
- Ensure safety standards are adhered to during machine operation and tooling setup processes.
Experience:
- Proven experience programming CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, or 5-axis CNC machines in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong proficiency with Haas controls.
- Skilled in SolidWorks for engineering CAD design and schematic interpretation.
- Extensive knowledge of GD&T principles for precise mechanical blueprint interpretation.
- Experience with Mastercam programming software for creating efficient machining strategies.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing methodologies to optimize workflows and reduce waste.
- Ability to interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings accurately while applying measurement techniques for quality control using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, CMMs, and other precision instruments.
- Strong math skills related to geometry and measurement calculations essential for high-quality machining outcomes.
